ABOUT
I am a mixed media artist living and working in Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia. I first honour drawing in my work while striving to remain contemporary in execution.
Approaches often involve deconstructing and assembling work using collage methods. The multilayering of collage, paintings and drawings often leads to objective chance and accident which takes me in a new and often challenging direction.
I like to connect more than one form of knowledge or experience within the work.
My work is uniquely historical in narrative and often tells of stories held within vintage family photographs. I look for ways to convey a narrative around absence, presence, transience and the human condition.
The tools of my hands create visual languages which speak to stories of the past.
